It's been a while! :)
The summer flew by but I have gotten some friendly reminders to update our blog! Mackenna is almost 4 1/2. She is full of spunk, attitude, and emotion of late so the summer, while it has been fun, has been a learning experience for all of us. She has the best sense of humor so despite our bumps in the road, she keeps us all laughing. She starts pre-K next week and will be there three mornings a week. She is so excited. This summer she has mastered riding her bike- and got back on after a major fall!- learned how to pump herself on the swing, and overcame her fear of jumping into the pool and getting her face wet! Big accomplishments. She had her tonsils and adenoids out and tubes placed in her ears in May and the results are awesome. She hears almost too well now and complains about louder sounds- but she has not been sick with a cold all summer- and her speech is very clear now. We are so thankful. She is loving arts and crafts and has become quite the little artist.
Myla is 10 months old now. At her appointment last week, she weighed 18 lbs. 15 oz (30%), was 29 inches long (70%) and her head was in the 97%! She is growing so fast. She is crawling everywhere and signing so much. Her pediatrician was so impressed with her signing ability. She is up to 16 words that she signs and many more that we know she understands. She has just mastered "please" and we are working on "thank you" and "help me." Myla adores books and puppies (her two most used signs). She would look at books for hours. She is still such a cuddle love- just a sweetie all around. I thank God for such a easy, snuggly baby. A large part of me wishes she would stay this age forever. Last week, we got to see her standing in her crib for the first time by herself, and now she is pulling up on everything. She loves splashing in the bath and, right now, eats anything placed in front of her. She has eight teeth, and unfortunately, is a biter. We are working on that. I can't believe she'll be one in two short months!
