Introducing Myla Eloise
I have been negligent in updating my blog as a few of you have pointed out...but I have been sopping up my new litte love Myla Eloise! Myla means "merciful gift" and Eloise means "high-spirited" and is a form of my mother's middle and grandmother's first name Louise. She arrived on my 30th birthday, October 30th at 9:54 PM after a very quick labor. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 7oz and was 21 inches long- lots of dark brown hair, dark blue eyes, and very long toes and fingers. She looked just like Mackenna did at birth, although I am seeing more differences as she grows. She has been a dream baby so far- we have been really blessed. At her 2 week appointment, I mentioned to the Dr. that I was worried there was something wrong because she hadn't cried yet! She has cried since- but overall she is a very content, very calm little one. She has gotten quite chunky already. At her one month visit she weighed in at a whopping 11 lbs. 3 oz.!!! She looks every bit of that 11 lbs., too. She has rolls everywhere and her poor little chin has all but disappeared into her neck. So far, she loves to cuddle, ride in the sling, and be swaddled at night and dislikes getting her diaper changed (though she is more than happy to sit a dirty one) and have her shirts pulled over her head.
Mackenna has filled into her big sister road wonderfully with only a few small bumps along the way. She has from the first minute been wonderful with Myla- she loves to help retrieve items, loves to hold her, and has nicknamed her on her own "Mylie," "sweet potato," and "Ruby Tuesday" not sure how or why the last one came about, but it sure is cute! We had a few meltdowns and crabbiness towards Bob and I in the first few weeks but that has lessened quite a bit and my old Kenna has returned for the most part.
So without further ado...meet my little Myla.

Headed home from the hospital (she can't fit into this outfit or hat already!)

First smiles at 3 weeeks

Smiling at 5 weeks...notice the chin!

Mackenna was lucky to have Aunt Lynn take her to a Halloween party and Grandma to take her trick or treating and to her preschool party so there was no missing out!
