Dory and Nemo
No, not the fish from Finding Nemo...that is what Mackenna has named her feet. It started 2 months ago and I thought it would pass...but it has only maginified.
2 months ago I laid her down for the night and we realized her stuffed animals she prefers to sleep (play) with at night were downstairs, to which she said, "That's okay mom, I have Dory and Nemo" and pointed at her feet. And so it began.
Dory is the right foot- Nemo is the left- it never changes. Once and a while I will call one foot by the other name and she instantly corrects me. Her feet eat, sleep, dance, get Mackenna into trouble, get in fights, and make up on a daily basis. She refuses to sleep on car rides now because she is too busy breaking up fights between Dory and Nemo to close her eyes! It is hilarious to watch her scream at her feet. While on the road, Dory and Nemo take turns walking up the backside of the passenger seat. Despite it being slightly odd, there are two huge pluses to this in my opinion. 1) It is very cheap, portable enterainment. 2) I can tell Dory or Nemo to do something and they listen- and drag Mackenna along with them. I took a picture of Dory and Nemo helping Mackenna hold her popsicle tonight and I'll attach it here once I upload it.

And a sweet quote from my girl at 2 years 3 (almost 4!) months old:
"Mommy, you sit on the big girl swing, and I'll sit on the baby swing and we can be ladies together!"
